SLAUGHTERMEN'S DISPUTE
AGREEMENT ARRIVED AT. Air. W. H. • Hugger, Conciliation 'Commissioner, reports that a complete 'agreement has boen arrived at in the Wellington slaughtermen's dispute, applying to the whole of tbo Wellington Industrial district outside a radius of eight miles from the Cbiof Post Office, Wellington. The following are the main conditions agreed to:— Hours of Work.—(a) Unless otbor- ■ wiso mutually agreed upon tbe ordinary hours of. work shall bo worked between tho hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. (V) An ordinarj' day's work shall not exceed hours hours, (c) On' Saturday ordinary work shall not exceed four hours, irrespective of the timo of starting, (d) Intervals for meals shall be as at present customary at the various sheds, unless otherwise mutually arranged.
Rates of Pay.—(a) Freezing sheep and lambs, £1 7s. 6d. per £100; potters' sheep and lambs, £1 per 100. (b) So long as tbo British Empiro remains in a state of war with Gormnnv and Austria, or eithor of them, and for throo months after the cessation of such war, thoro shall bo paid in addition'to tho rates above prescribed, a war bonus of 2s. fid. per 100. (c) Notwithstanding tho foregoing clause, the said war bonus may at any timo during the currency of this award bo' continued, either wholly or partially, or may bo increased or terminated as tbo Cdurf, on the application of any party to this award or of its own motion, may determine
Tho other : conditions are generally those contained in tho old agroomont in tho Hawke's Bay district.
