ORGAN RECITAL
The programme of the. organ recital given bv the City Organist (Mr. Bernard F. Page) on Saturday evening Uliis uniformly high iu quality. The G-lazounov "Prelude and Fugue" in D Major has, through an enforced acquaintance, become a most popular item with Mr. Page's audiences, and the "Harmonies du Soil'" of Karg-Elert returns as an old friend. Mr. Page exerted his fine talent and instinctive art in the beautiful Prelude to the first act of "Tristan and Isolde" (Wagner), Handel's "Concerto in D Minor," and Cesar Franck's masterful "Piece lieroiquo." A pleasing feature of the programme was the inclusion of three charming little nieces from Arthur Hinton's (tho P.A.M. examiner'in'Wellington last week) 6uito for piano, "A Summer Pilgrimage." These were the idyll "Anions the Hills," the reverie ' l At Sunset," and "The Passing of Summer." Each piece was tenderly melodious, and nicely in tune with tho subject.
