POWERFUL ITALIAN PRESSURE ON THE ISONZO
AUSTRIA UNABLE TO REINFORCE RUMANIAN FRONT Aiistttiliin-Ncw Zealand Cable Association. Berne, October 27. Owing to powerful Italian pressure ou the Isonzo front, Austria has countermanded orders to reserves which were destined for Rumania. Strong German contingents have been sent to Triosto to oppose the Italians and hold the city at all costs. ITALIAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. (Rec. October 29. 5.5 p.m.) • Rome, October 29. An Italian official communique states: "We expelled the enemy from the village of Satio, in the Adige Valley, and destroyed its defences. We progressed a distance of three hundred yards south-east of Nova Villa."
