Now Zealoua Loan ana Mercantile Agency (Jo.:—Only oddments of wool were ottered. Halo lots are being kept lor Me opening sale of season m jMovembor. Sheepsirina were in Keen demand, and all eound pelted I'ull-woolled sold at 13d. to 13} d. per lb. , Shorn polls sold up to 4s. each, and salted woojjy skins to 17s. 6d. each. Hides and calfskins sold well at lata lutes, calfskins being a shade higher in price.
Messrs. Abraham an* Williams, Ltd.:— We offered a fair catalogue of all classes of produce to a lull bench of buyers, who bidded freely for all lots. Skins were in keen demand; medium to coarse 6kins bringing 13} d., whilst good halfbreds realised 13jd. Hides -were on a par to a farthing- dearer, as compared -with last sale. Calfskins wore not competed for to the samo extent as at the previous sale, tho top price being about 3-Bd. lower. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co., ttd.:—We offered a good catalogue to the 'usual bench of buyers Competition was exceedingly keen, and prices for sheepskins and hides were from , pad' to Jd. in sellers' favour. Tallow prices wero on a par -with last sale. ' New Zealand Farmers' So-operative Distributing Co.:—Wo had a good catalogue of dead wool and sheepskins. Tho market -was very firm, and the demand as keen as at any salo for some weeks past. All lots of skins were eagerly competed for, and realised full rates. Hides were very steady, and calfskins changed hands about on a par with last 6ale.
United Farmers' and Wairarapa, Farmers' Co-operative Association :-Shoopskins and hides were firm,' with good competition at about last sale's prices. ■ The range of prices -was ;as under:— Sheepskins: Half bred, 13d. to J3Jd.; lino crossbred, 13d. to IJJd.; medium to coarso crossbred, lid. to 13Jd.; short to halfwool, 71<5. to 12d.: dcaa and damaged crossbred, Bd. to ll£d.; inferior and badly damaged, Id. to Bd.; lambs, lUd.; damp, salted, and grecu, ss. to 17s. 6d.; pelts, 2Jd. to CJd.; lambs, salted, 35., 3s. 3d., 3s. M., 4s.
