After just being overhauled, moroovcr, tho vessel could not bo drivon at full speed until the engines had got down to working order. WAIMANA FROM LONDON. The Shaw, fiavill, and Albion Company's liner Waimana arrived at Auckland, via. Hobart, on Wednesday morniug. 07RBNA AT AUCKLAND. Prom Singapore, via Balik, Papau, Thursday Island, and Brisbane, the oilcarrier Cyrena arrived in Auckland at U a.m. on Tuesday, after «. 29-days voyage, most of which was made in heavy weather. The ship. attracted a great deal of attention with her goal-post masts. Her cargo consists of 62,000 eases of benzine and 10,000 cases of kerosene, of which 16,000 cases of benzine and 2COO cases of kerosene are for Wellington, and the rest for Auckland, Napier, Timaru, and Dunedin. The vessel calls at Napier after leaving Auckland, and then comes on to Wellington.

Captain E. Evatas is in charge of the vessel, and has associated with him: Chief officer, Mr. W. Smaden; second, Mr. A. f!. Ward; third, Mr. F. J. Papple; chief engineer, Mr. J. M. Clark; second, Mr. D. I. F. Campbell; third, Mr. T. White. Mr. F. Davies, of Wanganui, joined the vessel on Tuesday as fourth eng'ineer. According to tho Auckland "Star," the Cyrena, put out her surplus fuel bunkers at a, port en route from Singapore, and will be converted into a qoal-burning steamer at Auckland. The vessel iB expected to get away from Auckland to-day, and should arrive here' about the middle of next week. '

. The steamer Port Napier left Waitaia for Wanganui on Wednesday evening, and arrived at the latter port yesterday morning. At Wanganui the vessel loads 16,660 freight carcasses, 500 bales of wool, and 150 casks of tallow and pelts, thus clearing the Wanganui Meat Company's workß of lost season's output, The veßsel will then proceed to Lyttelton.

Tho steamer Inga,, which arrived' in Wanganui recently from Newcastle, completed discharge of her cargo of coal on Tuesday and sailed for Kaipora. the same evening.. At Kaipara the vessel loads timber; for Newcastle.

As far as is at present known, the Koutunui will arrive in port about Sunday from the East Coast, with a cargo of wool. It may be-later in the week before she . gets here, however.

Messrs. _ Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd.. axlvise tha* the Waimea, which was previously advertised as going t/T the West Coast only on Saturday, will, now sail for Nelson and West Coast on that day. '

Tho Westralia, due here on Saturdayone day late—from Sydney, via northern ports, has 200 tons of cargo to discharge here. She sailß on Saturday for Dunedin direct, in 'order to pick up her time-table. Mr. F. Wilson )iaß signed off the Woitomo. He occupied the position of third mato on that vessel.

The Calm ia bar-bound at Greymouth. 6he is to sail for Lyttelton as soon as she can get out.

The Himitangi is loading coal at Greymouth for Wanganui, and later returns to Westport to again load coal for Wanganui.

Til© Government steamer Hinemoft leaves Bluff early this morning for the West Coast of the South Island, on her way back to Wellington. Mr. H. Do Romanoff has signed on the Manuka as fifth mate.

Tlie Ngahere, which left for Greymouth on Wednesday evening, is due back on Wednesday, and will go on the Patent Slip for cleaning and painting, which will take about two days. The Somerset leaves for Lyttelton this afternoon, and will then go on to Dunedin. Coming back from Dunedin she will call at Timaru and Lyttelton, and iB due in Wellington on November 10. The Kowhai left Greymouth at 10.15 a.m. yesterday, and is due here this evening. It is hoped to get her away on Monday evening for New Plymouth. The Hapourika, which arrived in Greymout)i yesterday afternoon, was to leave there last night at 10 p.m., and is due here on Saturday morning. It is expected that the Corinna will leave New Plymouth at noon to-day, and she is due here on Saturday morning. She -will return to New Plymouth on Saturday night, to'load dairy produce to Wellington. •

The Rosamond leaves New Plymouth today, and is, due here to-morrow. She leaiis for Timaru and Dunedin to. morrow.

The Komata dnd Kamo, both of which left here 'last night for Westport and Greymouth respectively, are to load back to Wellington. Tho Komata is due back on Sunday, and the Ifomo on Monday. The Monowai leaves Dunedin to-day, and is due here on Sunday. She will set away for Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland on Monday.

Tho Pateena left Lyttelton iu the ferry service last evening, and is duo this morning. She will now withdraw from tho servico, and will go on the Patent Slip for about three days. After that severrtl days will bo spent in general overhaul, 'and she will then relieve the Takapuna on the Wellington-Picton-Nelson run.

The Westralia, due here on Saturday, brings the following passengers :—For Wellington; Mesdames MacOallum, Bartoll, Lilley, Ingham, Gower. Weir, Mucky, Messrs. Fairweatber, Harrison. For Dunedjn: Miss Campbell. Mr. Wheatley, and 10 steerage passengers for all ports. The Westport Coal Company advise that the Canopus, after a long absence from Wellington, is expected to arrive here on Sunday fronr-Weatport. She will probably leave on the -return trip on Wednesday. According to the American journal "Timbermon," an American schooner, tho Imgwd, a vessel of Bimilar rig to the Bertha Dolbeer, which arrived at Napier from 'Frisco a short time ago, is.on her way from 'Frisco to Napier with 133,082 •feet of timber.

Advice received in Wellington yesterday was to the effect that the Andy Mahony, at present en route from San Francisco to Auckland, Is bringing 326,938 feet of timber. '

Oaptain D. Morris has assumed charge of tho Westralia, vioe Captain T. Easson, who has' taken 'charge of the Viotoria. Oaptain A. J. Oroffc, who liaa been in command of tho Victoria for some time, has been granted sick leave.

Captain A. Dowell, of the Ngatoro, is on holiday leave, and is being relieved by Oiiptairt T. J. Dowell, acting-master /if the Ngahere.
