Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—On Wednesday we hdd our monthly sale at Rongotea. There was a fair yarding of both sheep and cattle. The attendance was good, and competition keen, , every lot soiling at auction at prices in favour of vendor. On Monday at Hlmitangi we had a good yarding of cattle. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At Mr. H. Bly's sale at VThakaronga on Tuesday, there was a good attendance, and the cows, which were a particularly good lot. sold well, averaging £15 12s. all round. Prices:— Best cows, £17 ; to £20 10s.; fair cows, £14 to £16 10s.; aged cows and winter calvers, £10 to £13 10s.; three-quarter cowa. £9; bulls, 85 to 10J .guinaes; sow with litter, £8 10s.; sows in pig, £3 to £4 ss.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., -report:— Wo held our weekly stock sale at Dannevirke yards on October 20, -when we offered a- small yarding of sheep and a fair entry of cattle. Stock of all classes met with keen competition, and though we passed one line of 21 Holstein yearling heifers at auction, we succeeded in placing them after the sale, end effecting a total clearance of stock offered. Sales wero as follow:—200 good wether hoggets, at 31s. .6d.; ZOO good ewe hoggets, at 335. 5d.; 1 heifer, just calved, £12 10s.; • 1 springing heifer, £10; 2 springing heifers, £9 55., £7 2s. 6d.; 6 empty 2-year heifers, £7- 2s. 6d. and £5 155.; l-y«ar steer, £5; 2year heifers, £4 155.; 5 18-month heifers, at £6 65.; 2 Holstein yearling heifers, £6 55.; 2 Jersey yearling heifers, at £6. At the Dannovirke bull fair our entry consited of 11 bulls; tho majority failed to reach vendors' reserves, and were passed in at auction. Animals we sold, prices ranged.from 11 to 16J guineas.

MASTER-TON CATTLE FAIR.. . The N.Z. Loen and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report;—At the annual spring cattle fair at Mas-terton on Tuesday there was a very large entry, though considerably short of previous years, while the quality was hardly up to the usual standard, but some very nico linos were offered. A large attendance of buyers were present from Hawke's . Bay, .Manawatu, : and local districts, and bidding was particularly keen for all classes tho prices realised being in favour of tho vendors.
