MIRAMAR AFFAIRS.

COUNCIL MEETING. : Tho Miramar Borough Council met last ovening. There wero prcsout: Mr, F. Townscnd (Mayor), and Councillors Tracy, Pollock, and Green. The council agreed to tlio terras ,of tho City Council in connection' with street lighting jn tho borough. Mr. J. Pollock, of Seatoun, wrote, asldng for an pxtension of tho sewer, which tlio council decided to grant, providing the cost was borno by the applicant.

A resident wrote, suggesting the erection of a publio convonienco at tho Seatoun tram terminus. Tlie suggestion was referred to tho engineer for his advico.

Mr. Joshua 801 l submitted a proposed plan of tho subdivision of sections with the corner cut off, theso sections not having tho area required by the by-law. After considerable discussion tho matter was deferred to until next meeting:' Tho Town Clerk was instructed to compilo a. list of tho sections affected by tho by-law. Tho report of tho water supply for last year showed that 5 per cent, was tlie difference between, tho quantity purchased from tho City Council and tho quantity sold. During the first half of last year the expenditure 011 tho tramways exceeded the reeoipts by £1691. During tho first half of this year the exceeded the receipts by £161.
