MR MASSEY AND SIR JOSEPH WARD
ATTEND A CABINET MEETING
A jVISIT TO THE FRONT

Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward attended a Cabinet meeting this morning, and were given places of honour on either side of Mr. Asquith. During the two hours the Empire and war policy wero discussed.-
Mr. Massey, interviewed afterwards, said that he had been impressed by the similarity of the proceedings to the procedure in New Zealand and the warmth of feeling expressed by the Ministers for the Dominion.
Mr. Massey, Sir Joseph Ward, and their secretaries will nest leave for the Western front on a visit to the New Zealanders and the British and tho French lines, arid on returning _ will visit the fleet and tour the provinces. It is impossible that the complete programme will be covered in the time allotted. '
The negotiations with the Board of Trado are dragging. Mr. Massey on Wednesday night addressed the Pilgrims' Club at the Savoy Hotel, lord. Charles Beresford.presided. Mr. Massey said that New Zealand was holding German Samoa for the Empire —"but we mean to keep it."
