Mr. F. Armstrong who camo from Akitio to eoe his horses race at Trentham, roturned home yesterday. The imported mare, Tame Duck, got badly galloped on at Trentham and was cut about tho. hocks. It ■ has been decided to retire hor to tho stud, and she will bo mated with Mira (Soult—Tauhei) this season. Tho grey horse has been on Mr. Armstrong's, station at Akitio for some timo past, and has proved a success at the stud. The Hound, who got hurt behind when he ran off in the Hack Steeplechaso on the opening day, is to be blistered and turned out for a spell. Cherry Blossom is to be sent south tonight in charge of her trainer, A. ShearsJjy, and will fulfil her Stewards' Handicap engagement.
Tho well-known light-weight horseman, E. Roed, with >655, earned most money at Trentham. Next to him came B. Doeley, with .£sl, and C. Emerson with followed the Aucklander. Other earnings wero: J. The English-bred horse, Shepherd King, winner of the Caulfield Cup, took part in the Epsom Derby in 1914, when Durbar II won from Hapsburg and Dan Russell. Included in tho field on that occasion were Brakcspe&r, Polycrates lolygamist and Woodwild, who have all, like Shcphord King, found their way to Australia. J
