ANTI-SHOUTING
FIRST CASES IN AUCKLAND

Auckland, October 25. The first cases under tho anti-treating provisions of tho War Regulations Act wcro heard in the Police Court to-day by Mr Frazer, S.M., the hearing lasting until late in the evening. In respect to tho Waitemata Hotel, Nellie Goiss was fined £5 for receiving payment in respect to a "treat," and Michael Ranlich and George M'Niel wore each fined £5 for "shouting," and Nicholl Tolicli, George Sulich, and Norman Eade were fined a similar amountfor "consuming." The charge against the licensee, John Endean, was dismissed. With regard to the Commercial Hotel, Horbort Morris, barman, was toed £10 for "selling," and George Edward was fined £10 for "shouting." Tho charge against the licensee, Walter King, was adjourned till Friday. With respect tn. the Waverley Hotel, Thomas James Evans kas fined £5 for "shouting," and charges against tho barmaid, Una Allien, and the licensee, A. A. Paape, wcro dismissed. Charges pendulg in connection with the Imperial Hotel were adjourned until next Wednesday.
