At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rowing Association, held last evening, the suta of £5 ss. was donated to the lied Cross Association's funds.

A tea and "social" will bo given tomorrow to the delegates who have lately returned from tho Y.W.C.A. triennial' conference in Sydney. An interesting evening may bo expected, as the delegates will give an account of their experiences.

Nurse Hilda Hooker, sister of Mr. L. 0. Hooker, of Hawera, who has been stationed at Trentham for somo time, loft for Trentham again on Monday, after a short stay in Hawera. Though looking fairly well, she has never quite recovered from the effects of the strain and exposure suffered when the Marquette, on which she was travelling, was_ torpedoed. She hopes to go abroad again.

To keep pace with tho needs of bis customers, both ladies and gentlemen, Mr. J. T. Lewis, Fashion Tailor, Featherston Street, Wellington, has been compelled to alter the appointments of his up-to-date establishment by enlarging both fitting rooms. Under the new conditions it will be possible to broaden tho extent of the tailoring service which has made Lewis tailoring predominant, and to further merit tho patronage of ladies and gentlemen seeking the better kind of tailoring.—Advt.
