Tho wheat market keeps very firm, but as there is practically nothing changing: hands it is difficult to say what the real values are. Growers aro very firm holders, and are making no offers of their grain, although buyers are ready to make purchases. Potatoes are the only prodiico in which, there is any l business doing of late, and supplies of these in growers' hands aro now about exhausted, and . a rise m price to £8 per ton at country stations has failed to bring forward any quantity. • Prices have ranged from : £3 10b. to £5 10s. for seod, and it is stated that as high as £7 10s. has been paid. Hemp—Tho'market is .firm, and. prices continue to advance, but' the demand is principally speculative trade. Buyers are cautious, and quotations are nominal.
