While the auxiliary schooner Houto was en route from One.hun.ga to Dunedin, a seaman, named Jacob Larsen was killed through a fall to the deck. He was furling the foro upper topsail, and it is presumed that he missed his footing. . His right leg and firm were broken, and several ribs were crushed. Larsen died- an hour later/ end was buried at sea. He was a native of Russia, and was 36 years of age..
