NORWEGIAN VESSELS SUNK

Stockholm, October 22. The Swedish steamer Algseld has been sunk. Eight of the crow perished. Several Norwegian steamers have teen sunk. (Rec. October 23, 5.40 p.m.) Christiania, October 22. Three Norwegian steamers imd three sailers have been torpedeod by submarines and sunk. The crews aro usually given, ten minutes in which to take to the boats. Norwegian torpedo boats are active in rescuing the survivors.
A GERMAN NOTE TO NORY/AY Copenhagen, October 22.
Germany has presented a Note to Norway protesting against Norway's prohibition regarding submarines' use of coasal waters and ports. The contents have not been revealed, butthe Norwegian correspondent of the "Aftenposten" interviewed Herr Zimmerman, the German Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, who said that the Note, was serious. Norway's -conduct conflicted with The Hague Convention in their simplest demands for neutrality. Meanwhile the submarines will continue operations oft the Norwegian coasts.
