FIRE AT A SAWMILL.
— s By Telegraph—Presa Aesociitios. 1 Dareavilla, October 21.-.•■■ Between/7 and 8 o'clock last night » destructive fire at Tangowahino, Northern Wairoa, totally destroyed tho sawmills of Messrs. Gibbons, Ltd. Axfirst the extensive stocks of timber were in danger, but tho north-west wind kept tho fire in the direction of the river. It was impossible to save the milling plant. The s.s. Wairua proceeded to tho scene from Dargaville, .with the firo brigade on board, which' did. good service. A steam fire engine was sent this morning to save . tho 'township's two million feet of whits pine. The insurances are , not yetknown.
