CONSTANTINE CLIMBS DOWN ■ Another considerable advance has been made by tbo British on the froni south of Bapaume, and the French simultaneously have , broken heavy German attacks in/the Sailly locality, and have gained more ground south of the Sommo; ' Articles in the German newspapers, preparing the public for tho loss of Bapaume and Peronnc, suggest that still bigger events are in prospect. A tremendous struggle continues in. the main Eastern thcatro, and further heavy fighting is reported on the Rumanian fronts. At some points on the Transylvanian frontier the Rumanians have gained ground, hut they have s fallen back before an enemy offensive in the Dobrudja. It is reported that General von Falkonhayn has been wounded in the leg, and has relinquished the Transylvanian command. On the approaches to Trieste the Italians are now developing a methodical offensive on the Enes of that which is succeeding so well on the Somme, and their enterprise is said to be unfolding with excellent promise. In Macedoniathe Serbs have again.heavily defeated the Bulgars, and effected an important advance in the region east of Monastir. A German cruiser, torpedoed by a British submarine, escaped, but in evident difficulties. The Austrian Premier has been murdered.
