ROSE AND CARNATION CLUB
The annual show of the above club will be held at the Town Hall on Wednesday, November 15. Tho classes are arranged so that all may compete. Many trophies are offered, including the handsome challenge cup, value £10 10s., presented by Mrs. Arthur Pearco for collection of- twenty-four rose blooms; silver rose bowl, presented by Miss R. M. Joseph for collection of twelve blooms; and a handsome silver trophy has been donated by Messrs Stewart Dawson and Co. for competition in the city of Wellington championship, which is open only to growers residing within five miles of the G.P.O. Numerous cash prizes will be given in all classes, in addition to several 'of the National Hose Societies' medals. Special classes are provided for suburban rose growers, and the decorated table competition- for ladies, for which- cash prizes have been allotted, should induce keen competition. The classes are not confined to club memhers, but are open to all flower growers. Schedules may be obtained from tho hon. secretary, 106 Cuba Street.- The proceeds of the show aro to be devoted to tho Mayor's Fund for Wounded Soldiers and the Zoo rosery rose purchasing fund.
