London, Octoher 20. In the House of Commons, on "the 'second reading of the Rhodes Estate Bill, providing for the disestablishment of the German scholarships, Mr. J. King moved tho rejection of the Bill, criticising the trustees' methods in carrying out the object in view. Ho admitted that a reversion to pre-war conditions would be impossible. Colonel Yate suggested that the trustees should be invited to consider the allocation. One proposed that tho forfeitctfscholarships should go to India. Mr. H. J. Mackinder, on behalf of the promoters of the measure, said that the House would agree that a long time would elapse before .the Germans would again be acceptable at' Oxford. Mr. King withdrew. his opposition, and tho Bill was seconded.
