SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
It tho Sailors' Friend Society last night an excellent programme was arranged by Miss Fathers and party. After a delightful evening a hearty, voto of thanks to the performers was movod by the Missioner (Mr. Moore), and responded to by Miss Fathers. The performers were: Misses Martin, Wharton, Chappie, Henderson (2), Crewes Fisher, Fathers, and Mr. Nelson. 'Mrs. Webb was accompanist. A resolution of sympathy was passed in reference to tho death at the front of Mr. Sign, who was connected with the society. Mr. Moore read extracts from Miss Weston's letter, in which sho acknowledged tho amount received at the concort held on behalf of tho four widowed mothers of the naval heroes. She said, with regard to tho enclosure:' "It shall be faithfully applied in accordance with tho desire of the donors. As wo have communicated .with the whole of the families of naval men_killed in action, we have unique opportunity in discovering whero it can be most ■useful."
