, meeting of the above society was hold last evening, when ten minute papers wero delivered by tho following members:—Mr. A. P. Clapshaw, "Depreciation"; Mr. 6. W. P. House. A.1.A.N.Z., "Payment of Casual Labour"; Mr. J. L. Griffin, 8.C0m., "Consideration in Contracts" ; Mir. C M Bowden, A.1.A.N.Z., "C.L.F. 'and F. 0.8." An animated discussion took placo after "the reading of each paper, and the lecturers wero accorded' a hearty rote of thanks. Reference was mado to tho loss suffered by the society by the death on active service of Mr. F. A. Allen, an active member for | many years, and a vote of condolence with the relatives of the deceased member was passed, standing.
