LAND AGENTS' ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL REPORT. t The third annual meeting of' the Auctioneers and Land Agents' Association, of Wellington, is to bo held on October 24 at Accountants' Chambers. The annual report states: "This association held its second annual general meeting in July last, when, among other matters dealt with was the question of raising, by levy, sufficient funds 13 defray the . travelling expenses of two delegates to travel through the South Island to hold meetings m various centres, and urge the formation of local associations and. their affiliation with the Dominion Association. It is understood that a number _of land agents in some of the more important towns are favourable to taking such action. Your executive, after fully considering the question, decided to refer it. to this annual general meeting for discussion and decision.
"Registered Land Agents Ontside the Association.—-Your executive has given a large amount of consideration to the question of approaching agents who are not members, especially those in the country, with a view of enrolling them as members. A committee was set lip and a list of those to be communicated with prepared, and circulars were sent out. Many favourable replies were received, and some new members have beon elected. It is hoped that as a result more will be obtained in tho near future.
"Membership.—When the year closed there were thirty-eight town and twelve country members on tho roll."_ "Retiring Officers. —The election of president and vice-presidents 9as' to talco place each year, and four members of tho committeo vacate office. Messrs. Fanning, Leighton, Harcourt, and Horn also retire, but all are eligible for re-election." ,
