CAMP NOTES
A note in Fcatherston camp orders states: —The procedure in regard to the temporary ranks held by non-commis-sioned officers in Reinforcements drafts will be, as follows on arrival at destination Temporary ranks higher than sergeant to revert to sergeant; temporary sergeants to temporary corporals ; temporary corporals to temporary lance-corporals; corporals to retain rank, i.e., temporary sergeants who have reverted to temporary corporals. All temporary non-commission-ed officers will 6e put through N.C.O. schools at the base. If passed out satisfactory these ranks are to bo made substantive. If not satisfactorily roported on after passing through training school to revert to the rank of private. The undermentioned, having passed qualifying examination, and their promotion having been approved of by tfho Camp Commandant, at Trentham, are granted temporary rank in Expeditionary Force as follows: — Headquarters Staff (Q.M. Stores). — Corpl. A. C. King, to bo Regtl. Q.M. Sergt.;. Corpls. W. R. Andrew, W. G. Fleming, A. H. L. Stott, H. H. H. Wljittington, G. G. L. Taylor, T. 0. Shirley, Ptes. L. D. Cooper, C. B. Lusty, Corpls. H. T. Thomas, A. Wallace, to he Q.M. Sergts. The following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp Commandant at Featlierston: —Pte. L. H. R. Read, 20th M.R., to be O.R. Clerk; Corpl. W. S. G. Cameron, 0 Coy., 20th, to be sergeant; Pte; 13. Kelly, C Coy., 20th, to bo lance-cor-poral. 22nd M.R., to bo Ptes. F. G. Faber, P. F. Delancy, J. G. Dungey, M. J. Meehan. The P.M.O.'s Cup for tile best-kept hut at Trentham for the week ending October 14 was won by tlio Specialist Coy., 21st Reinforcements; G. Coy., 21st, and F. Coy., 21st, were second.
