NAVY LEAGUE
A meeting of tho General Committee of tho Navy Loaguo, held last night, was attended by: Mr. J-. B. Bnrcourt (in the chair), Mcsdames Hall-Thomp-son, Algar Williams, Bradnoy, Williams, Miss Speed, Messrs. Darroeh, Atkins, Palmer, Wiren, Koesing, and Colonel Campbell. Tho arrangements mado for Trafalgar celobration on Saturday were fully discussed and approved. Special references arc_ to be mado to tho excellent work carried out by the fleets of tho Allies during tho war. Each year' thoro is a. certain amount of friendly rivalry among tho New Zealand branches of tho Navy Lca<nic in their efforts to obtain for Trafalgar Day suitable naval films. The Wellington branch scored heavily this year. As far back as February last the lato hon. secretary approached Hayward's and booked in advanco of other places tho fine naval_ and military set of films entitled "Britain Prepared. These pictures are to bo shown at the King's and the Star Theatres on Saturday afternoon, under the auspices of the Navy League, for the benefit of the school children and their parentsNominal prices are being charged for admission, and brief patriotic addresses are to be given in appreciation of tho work of the Allied Navies during tlio war. Full details will be announced later. These functions are quite apart from tho Navy League's evening demonstration at the Town Hall.
