ROSENEATH RATEPAYERS
The Eoseneath and Oriental Bay Ratepayers' Association held their fortnightly meeting last evening. Mr. T. W. Ward presided. Correspondence received from tho City Council stated that the survey of the road between Point Jorningham and Little Karaka Bay will be put in hand at once, with a view of ,obtaining an Order-in-Council for the widening of,the street. The president (Mr.,T. W. Ward) explained the result of the deputation to the City Council re the saving of the beach at Oriental Bay._ It would bo almost impossible, ho said, to overcome tho difficulties presented by the City lfngincer (Mr. Morton) and tho Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), on account of the narrowness of the road there. The meeting thanked Mr. Ward for the efforts he had made to save tho beach. It was decided to write to tho City Council ro the gorso growing on tho Town Belt below Palliscr Road, and overlooking Hay Street, as this is becoming a danger to tho district.
