In Featherston Camp there has beon erected' a large three-hailed building by the Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Congregational, Church of Christ Churches, and Y.M.C.A. This combination of forces is a means of increased efficiency and harmony, and the soldiers aro not 6low to show their appreciation of such a movement. Tho buildings havo cost nearly £2250. Three chaplauiß are in charge—Captains H. G. Gilbert, L. B. Neale, and Secretary C. V. Mohr. The writing room, which accommodates 100 men, is ' frequently overtaxed, thero being occasions (when tho chaplains' rooms are placed at tho disposal of,the men. The popularity of this well-organised instituto,. which is lighted with electricity, may be realised when it is known that no fewer than 10,000 letter headings and . 3000 envelopes are used every week. Tho executive committee have just ordered 300,000 letter headings and 150,000 envelopes, involving an expenditure of over £200. Tho games rooms aro an unending source of recreation and. enjoyment, and to provide for tho further amusement of the men the. executive aro considering the expenditure of another £100 on indoor games. Hospital visitation claims the special attention of the chaplains, who seo that the patients are'well supplied with writing and reading material. Tho Sunday services aro exceedingly popular, the singing being a groat feature. The influence of such an institution is a source of moral and spiritual uplift in camp life, and all concerned aro to bo congratulated on such an enterprise. ZEITOUN CAMP. The N.Z.
