(By Tclcgraph-Press Association-Copyright Sydney, October 16. Fires have been discovered in several places in wheat stacks at Lockhart. A quantity of cotton waste was found. Later a member of the LW.W. was arrested. THE TREASON TRIAL. (Rec. October 16, 8.50 p.m.) Sydney, October 16. At the treason trial the acoused pleaded not guilty, and were committed for trial. Bail was refused. THE SUMMONS TO SERVE MANY CLAIMS FOR EXEMPTION. (Rec. October 16, S.so'p.m.) Sydney, October 16. Many claims wore j>referred at tho opening. of tho Exemption Courts today. "A Magistrate conducted the examination in the presence of a military officer. A large number of only sons were granted relief. Other applications wore temporarily postponed. AUSTRALIAN CASUALTIES NEW ZEALANDERS REPORTED. (Rec. October 16, 8.50 p.m.) Sydney, October 16. Casualty List No. 235 includes the names of tho following New_ Zealanders: —Prisoners of war, previously reported missing—Ptes. J. Bolton, S. 0. St'tnms, J. M'Phorson. Wounded—Pte. N. Taylor. Seriously ill—Cbrpl. E. C. Jl'Neil. Returned to duty—Pte. L. A. Black. Progressing favourably—Pte. , J. Lester.
