THE BRITISH WHEAT CONTROL
TRANSIT FROM AUSTRALIA. ("Tie Times.") London, October 15. Tho Wheat Commission, particularly dealing with transit from Australia, has approved the principle of using big steamers of deep draught. It is expected to shorten the voyage by a fortnight. Tho Commission is also dealing with the reduction of freights. Tho chief difficulty is - single loading, which is heightening the/cost to the British consumer, and; 'which could be solved if Australia could take British produce. The Commission is considering the possibility of takiojr over the tonnage devoted to Australian exports of luxury, such as wine and fruit. Tt is suggested that tho Australian official representatives in London should bo invited to sit on the Commission in order to help in the delicate negotiations.
