MR. MASSEY IN LONDON
' A VISIT TO THE SOLDIERS Amtraliaii-Ncw Zealand Cable Association. (Req. October 14, 7.20 p.m.) London, October 13. Mr. Massey visited tho Now Zealand wounded men at Chelsea Hospital, arid spent Sunday with the wounded men at Biockelhurst Hospital. (Rec.- October 15, 5.5 p.m.) London, October 14. The Now Zealand War Contingent Association entertained many convalescents who had been gathered from the hospitals aro\md London. Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward were present, and conversed with tho men. Mr. Massey congratulated them on tho good reputation ,they had ' earned on all hands. On behalf of New Zealand ho thanked them for performing their duty, and expressed his grateful'thanks to the New Zealand women in London. Noble work had been done among the New Zealand wounded. Sir Joseph Ward, supporting, eaid that they know that they would try to uphold the honour of New Zealand in tho. fight to tho last. There could ho no talk of any makeshift peace. ANOTHER BIG SHIPPING MERGER ELLERMAN LINE'S LATEST-' ENTERPRISE. Australion-New Zealand Cable Association, (Rec. October 15, 5.5 p.m.) London, October 14 Sir John Ellerman, of the Ellerman Line, has purchased tho shares of Thomas Wilson and Sons, Ltd., including a fleet of eighty vessels of 200,000 tons. This will augment the fleet controlled by the Ellerman Line —200 vessels of 1,400,000 tons.

Lord William Gascoyno Cecil has been appointed Bishop of Exeter.
