To-day presents almost, the last opportunity for the enlistment of the men required to complete- the quota of Group 5 (Wellington l City and Suburbes) for tne T'wonty-second Reinforcements. The Wellington seotion of tho draft will'go into camp on Tcusday next] and.the roll should .be, -complete oh Monday. The position" last night was {hat, seventy men were' still required from Group 5 in order to make up the full quota of 2-52. Tho Central Recruiting OJBcej at tho Town Hall, can accept that number of men o-day tor Inclusion in the draft on Tuesday. ■•' . Tho call for recruits is an urgeilj one.' Group' 5 has Bad to report serl-. ous shortages-for he Twentieth and the Twenty-first Romiorcements, "although it could cover the'wholo:-deficiency at once if all the men who "have registered for service! and stated their readiness to enter camp in October or earlier would eomo forward. The 180 men who have been already summoned to go into camp from the group on Tuesday have all taken the oath, so they may be depended upon to do their part. But tliero aTe vacancies to be filled, and any man who can go and don khaki on -Tuesday should' register today.'
The recruiting officers have often to deal with men who say they would enlist if they could enter camp at once. There is a chance for all such me nto-day. Then the recruits already accepted for the Twenty-second Reinforcements must havo many friends who have not yet enlisted. Places can be found for- them, too. But the man who wishes, to help complete what is expected to be the last wholly volunteer Reinforcement must be quick.
