AT 1 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for southerly breezes, veering by .west to northerly everywhere and freshening, especially in and southward of CooU Strait. Increasing haze and. cloudiness with rain. is' probable in the West Coast and southernmost, districts, and a ceneral change is likely to follow shortly. Barometer falling everywhere soon. Barometeric -pressure increased during last night, and tho weather has improved generally to-day. Moderate to strong southerly, winds have predominated. D. 0. BATES.
