WAR LOAN CERTIFICATES

WELLINGTON STILL IN THE LEAD. The sales of War Loan Certificates' during the first week of October amounted to no less than £40,422, which is about double the sales during the last week of September. In Wellington, Christchurch, and_ Dunedin the amount received was in each case slightly "over £7000, and in Auckland £6800, Wanganui coming next with £2000. The total up to and including October 7 has reached £987,953, and the relative positions of the various districts remain much the same. Wellington still leads with a total which is almost equal to that of Auckland and Dunedin combined.
