STAR BOATING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. : The annual general meeting of tho Star Boating Club was held at the clubhouse on Monday evening, when Mr. A. D. Bayfield (captain) presided over a good attendance of members. An apology for absence was received from tho president (Sir Francis Bell), who was unable to attend owing to pressure of business. The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. Tho captain, in moving the adoption, commented on the fact that whereas, before the war, the balance-sheet involved as much as £800, this year there was only about £100 to.be dealt with. Messrs. H. E. Richards and D. R. Menzies, having completed twenty years' association with the club, were elected life members. •On tho motion of tho captain, it was decided to forward a letter of condolence to tho relatives of tho following ex-members of the club who have fallen on the Western front:—Messrs. C. 0. Carr (1911), .T. V. Radcliffe (1901), R. A. Newton (1912), J. S. H. Turner (1908), W. 11. Richardson (1904), and N.-A. Rohieson 0.906). The motion was carried in silence, all those present standing. A vote of thanks to tho secretary (Mr. M. Tumer) and. treasurer (Mr. C. W. Mack) for tlieir work during the past year was carried with acclamation.
