For insobriety Louisa Tierney, who had a record of three previous convictions, Robert M'Murray, with one previous conviction, and Charles Kennedy, also with ono previous conviction, were each fined ,10s., in default tlirco'days' imprisonment. John Shaw, charged with' drunkenness, also with resisting a constable while in tho execution of his duty, was convicted and fined 10s., the alternative being threo days' imprisonment. Edith Firth, whom Inspector Hendrey described as leading an. idlo and vicious life, and with being a menace to the community, was charged with entering the bar of the Princess Theatre- Hotel at 7.45 p.m., contrary to the, War Regulations, and was fined 10s., in the alternative three days' imprisonment. •

Convicted of a grossly .indecont act in Chows, Lane,. John Thorpe was fined 205., in default seven days' imprisonment.

Albert Richard Windsor, for whom Mr. H. F. O'Leary appeared, pleaded g|lilty to. the theft of 71bs. of potatoes, valuo Is. 2d., the property of the Harbour Board, and was.fined 20s. and costs 45., in default, fourteen days' im•prisonmenfc; . , Charles O'Connor appeared to answer a charge of being/a rogue and a vagabond, in that ho had been discovered playing an unlawful game, namely "Crown and Anchor," on tho breastwork at Waterloo Quay; Mr. P. W. Jackson appeared for accused, who was remanded to Friday, bail being allowed in his own recognisance of £20. May M'Manus..was charged with being found drank, with wilfully damaging a pane of glass, value 145., and was also deemed to be. an idlo and disorderly person, in that she had insufficient lawful means of support. She' Was convicted and for drunkenness, was ordered to pay tho damage to the pane of glass, and w'as sentenced to one month's- imprisonment on' the third charge.
