Tho monthly meeting of the Exceufcivo Committed, of tlie Wellington Diocesan Council was held at St. Patrick's Hall on AVednosday-evening, when the. Rev. Father Hurley, 8.M., presided over a full attendance of members. Most encouraging reports wero received'as to the success of the campaign for new members, many of. the branches visited by the honorary organisora having doubled their membership over last year's returns; Mr. J. Duggan, vico-president of tho council, and one of tho council's representatives on the Dominion Council and the Board of Management of the Catholic Women's Hostel, wrote, resigning these offices, and his membership of' tho executive, in conscqucnco of going into camp with an early Reinforcoment. It was resolved that Mr. Duggan's resignation be rcooived with regret, and that tho best thanks of tho Diocesan Council be convoycd to that gentleman by letter signed by every member of the executive. Mr. R. Sievers was elcctcd to the offices of vice-president and member of the Dominion Council, and tho Rev. Father Kimbell, S.M., invited to tho vacant seat on the executive. The statement showing the cost of education iti New Zealand for the past year was considored, and it was decided to send a copy to every parish eommitlcc iu tho archdiocosc.
