SOLDIER CHARGED WITH BIGAMY
'A HAMILTON WEDDING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, October 6. In tho Police Court to-day, Alfred Wiley r a-returiied soldier, was committed for trial on a charge of bigamy. It was alleged that at Hamilton, on June 3, 1914, lie went through the form of marriage with Clara Walker, his first wife,being still alive. Detective Cummings stated that ac- ' ciised, when arrested, admitted having : been married before, but. said he had riot, seen his first wife .for ten years : when he married the second one. ' ' "'Clara Walker deposed that tho accused enlisted as a single mail without • • telling.her. He made no provision for v-" her. She went to Wellington and saw " ' accused, who mado an allotment order in her favour. She received this money until accused returned from the war last November. Later she met him in —- Wellington, but left, liim; owing to re;;i_ marks made by accused's sister about his having been married before.
