, <, '.I'ho following aro the motions to bo discussed at tho public discussion, to bo held this evening, under the auspices of tho Victoria University League Debating Society:— (1) Mr. H. E. Von Haast to move; "That tlio preservation of tho Empire will be host secured in tho futuro by tho oreation of a Supreme Imperial Parliament having control of foroijjn affairs, Imperial defence, and the dependencies, with full powers of taxation over all tho subjects of the selfgoverning Dominions for those- purposes." (2) Mr. P. .T. O'Regan to move: "That the preservation of tho Empire* will bo best secured in tho futuro by a system of alliances among tho self-gov-erning Dominions, each self-governing Dominion being a sovoreign and independent State." (3) Mr. George Hogben, 0.M.G., to move: "That tho preservation of tho Empire will bo best secured in tho futuro by tho maintenance of tho present system, tho Imperial organ being the present Imperial Conference." Tho public aro invited to attend the discussion, which. will bo held in tjje collogo gymnasium.
