ANOTHER ZEPPELIN EXPLOIT
TWO AIRMEN HONOURED

London, October i. .Pilots Frederick Sowrey and Alfred de Bathe Brandon (of Now Zealand) have been awarded Distinguished Service Orders for gallantry "in attacking Zeppelins on September "23. After a spirited chase and a dingdong battle, Sowrey and Brandon manoeuvred for positiou. Sowrey had tho better luck, and his shots struck ttie Zeppelin, which fell ablaze. Brandon stood by in case of emergency. Later ho attacked the raider which surrendered.
' [Twelve or thirteen Zeppelins visited the Midland Counties on September 23. Tho Zeppelins were brought down in Essex. One was completely destroyed, and the other, with its crew, was reported to have boon captured intact. •Lieutenant Alfred do Bathe Brandon, who brought a Zeppelin down in March last, is a son of Mr. A. de B. Brandon, of Wellington. He is thirty-two years of age, and went Home last year for this purpose of entering tho Aviation Corps. Ho attended the Flying Scliool at Hendon, and tho Military School at Harrow, and received his commission in tho Royal Flying Corps later. Ho is a Wellington College boy, and later attended Cambridge University.]
