THE FISHING SEASON.

MORE LICENSES ISSUED THAN LX - LAST YEAR. The trout fisliing season of 1916-17 i opened 011 Sunday last undcr fair con--1 ditions. The weather w»s fine, and cold, and a good many lovers of the i rod from town journeyed to country i streams to tempt the-trout once more i from its native burn by mo/e or less tempting flies.. Trout-fishing inclined ; rather-to slump last year.
