SEASON OPENS ON OCTOBER. 14. The first mooting of the cd committee of the Wellington Cricket ■ Association was held at the Civil_ Service Club last night. Mr. 0. G. Wilson was elected chairman for tlie year, and there were also present: Messrs. J. 11 ■ Howitt, F. J. O'Driscoll, M. J. Crombic, A. A. George, E. H. Ward, and V.B.Willis. The season will be. opened, on Saturday, October 14, and practices will commence on October 9. ■ ' It was decided to ask tho .I'eserves Committee of the City Council to provide qight practice wickets tor the Basin Reserve. The secretary was instructed to circularise all clubs with tho viow of obtaining information as to entries for the season, and that such entries be received , until October 10, when games for tlio first rounds will be drawn and advertised.
