HEALTH OF THE SOLDIERS
Three cases of cerebrospinal meningitis, ono at - Trentham and two at i'eatherston, are now upon tho serious list. Surgeon-General Henderson, Director of Medical Services, stated yesterday that one of the cases at.Featiierston was slightly worse. The other two were progressing favourably. Two other soldier patients recently on the serious list, one suffering from pneumonia and the other from an abdominal trouble necessitating operation, were reported yesterday to have passed the serious stage. About - twenty measles cases have been reported from the Twentietli Reinforcements. An apparent increase in the number of patients in the military hospitals is duo to the special precautions now being taken. ( Men suffering from mild, sore throats and other slight affections are admitted to tho hospitals for short periods, in order that they may receive treatment in the inhaling rooms, and by other means.
