The Wellington branch of the New Zealand Educational Instittuo met last evening. It was decided to send the following remits to tho annual meeting of the institute to bo held in January: By Mr. E. H. Ballacliey.—"That the regulations governing the readjustment of school staffs be so amended that any four consecutive quarters shall constitute a year." By Mr. W. W. Rowntree.—"That sub-section 'c' of 'section 5 of tho Constittuion of the, N.Z.E.I, bo deleted." By Mr. W. W. Rowntree.—"That the regulations governing the grading of teachers be so amended as to allow of every teacher receiving the marks allotted to him or her by the inspec-. tor." _ By Mr. Foster. —"That in the interests of tho education system of New Zealand Grades 1, 2, and 3 of tho teachers'! salaries be merged into one grade, with a minimum salary of £110 and a maximuln of £180." An amendment of a motion by Mr. Rowntree. —"That in calculating the average attendance of a school for purposes of stalling any attendance under sovontv-fivo per cent, should be not included."
