SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
$ There was a <fc<xl audience at the Sailors' Friend Society on Tuesday, when a programme was' presented by Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Carr and party. Competitions were entered into by those present. The missioner (Mr. Moore), who presided, spoke a few words on the temperance question. At the cloße of an enjoyable time a hearty vote of thanks to the porformers was carried, and responded to by Mr. Carr. The following contributed to the programmo:—Mrs. Carr and Mrs. Tonics, Misses Carr.Tonks, and Rev. A. Bunt. At tho close five men signed the pledge, . . Last night an excellent exhibition of' living pictures was shown, through the kindness of the New Zealand Pictures, Ltd. The films were_ ably projected by Mr. Lauchlin, and Miss Dodds presided at the piano. At tho close a hearty vote of thanks to those who assisted was moved by the missioner (Mr. 1 Moore). ■
