SWIMMING CARNIVAL
0 ■ CONCLUDING EVENTS. The Boys' Institute Tepid Swimming Baths presented another bright appearanco last evening, when the concert and swimming competitions were concluded. The Hon. A. L. Hordman was in tho chair, and thoro was a good attendance of spectators and of swimmers. Tho Tramway Band contributed- musical numbers, and the following gave an enjoyable concert:—Misses Ethel Churchill (recitation) and Eva Smith (solo), Mrs. H. F. Woods (contralto solo) and Messrs. Herbert F. Woods (tenor solo), , and W. W. Crawford (humorous recitation). Miss L. Caddick was the accompanist. Members of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Institute sold flowers and sweets for tho benefit of the baths. An exhibition of life-saving was given by the Royal Life Saving Society, under Mr. W. C. Collier. The races held resulted as follow:— Ladies' Handicap'(33 l-3yds., breast stroke)— Miss A. Walker (6sec), 1; Miss M.'M'Lean (scr.), 2. Secondary Schoolboys' Handicap (66 2-3yds.)-P. D. Owen (lOsec), 1; D. J. Murrcll (scr.), 2; M. C. Eaton (12sec), 3. Boys' Institute Handicap (33 l-3yds.) —F. Mumford (6seo.), 1; C. Rusterkolz (Bsec), 2; P. Ross (9sec), 3. Boys' Diving Competition—W. Thomas, 1; A. Perry, 2.
