It is claimed today that 2,392,000 shares were handled. All stocks have an upward tendency. Union Pacific Railway stock reached the record figure of 149f; United States Steel touched 120, owing to reports that the American mills would be unable to supply European steel orders. Anaconda copper, par value 50, went to 102; the heaviest previous day's trading after the outbreak of the war was on September 28 1915, when 1,788,000. shares were handled.
