Wise, Agcnt-Uei-cral •■for •'New South Wales, died of heart ■ failure while talking to his wife last night.' He had just returned from a '.'two days' visit to tho ; Australian camps, and'apparently was in his usual health. [The Hon. Bernhard Ringrasc Wise, ~:K.C.,.was appointed Agent-General for ' iNew South Wales in London-in 1915. --■■•He was distinguished in lair-Mid poli- '. (tics in Sydney, where he was born in ■ 1858. He has represented South Syd- : r ney,-Flinders, and Ashfield in Parliament. In 1900 ho rescind his seat and was appointed to the Legislative Council in order to pilot the Arbitra- . tion Bill through tho' Council. He held in several Alinistries, and wassomo time Acting-Premier when tho See . Government was in power. Mr. Wise '.took a prominent part in tlio li'rec- - trado movement with' tho lata Sir ■ Henry Parkes, and was a fiont-rankor in the national movement |for Australian Federation. Ho sat in the Convention wnich framed tho Constitution . in 1807-8, hut missed elootion in tho Commonwealth Parliament!
