But the preliminary work has proceeded, and the census forms are now ready for distribution, to tho . sub-enumerators, whoso iduty.it will bo to see that ono form reaches every occupied houso in the Dominion before the 15th day of nest month. The census would have been taken in 'April of this year under normal conditions," but it was postponed by tho Government owing to the war. Tho original intention was fo hold the work over until the conclusion of peace, but later information showed that tho movements of population since 1911 hud been important, and the Ministry decided that the census should betaken in the present month. Tho estimates already made have shown that a very hig increase of copulation in Auckland, involving- additional Parliamentary representation, will 1)0 a feature of the census returns. . .
