CONCERT AND SWIMMING CARNIVAL

, The concert part of the programme in comicbtiioii; with the'carnival to bo held, at the ; Bovs' Institute Swimming Baths oil September 26 and 27, is now well under way.' Many of the leading artists- in .AVeilington have consented to give their services gratis, realising the institute deserves every, sup-, port in the work which it is accomplishing on behalf of the poorer boys of the city. Miss Eileen Driscoil, Messrs. Hamilton Hodges, and F. Charlton have signified their intention of singing at the concert on September 26, and the programme for September 27 is in the hands of Mr. H. Wood. On Saturday night tho various committees met at the -institute anil reported the progress made. In the swimming programme some novel items are assured. Tho Ladies' Auxiliary of tho Institute arc malting sweets which will be sold on both nights, and many have promised to bring flowers, the of which should swell the funds: Bands will be in attendance both evening's, and a piano has been kindly lent by the Bristol Piano Co. The pricq of admission is Is., and it is hoped: that tho effort's of the institute to raise £150 towards l.lie deficit on tlie baths will be realised.
