The annual meeting of shareholders of the Fanners' Co-operative Association te-day was somewhat lively and protracted, many shareholders complaining of tho non-allocation of the usual bonus on customers' business doiie. The directors explained-that this ivas due to the extra cost of working through'the war and a loss on wheat through the stoppage of exportation. A motion to adjourn for a week and refer the report back lor reconsideration of the bonus question was lost on a shoiv of hands, and the report was adopted.' A proposal to alter the' articles of association to give the diree-. torate largely extended powers, of federation with other associations, and otherwise, was objected to as going too far. On a show of hands the proposal was declared lost, but on appeal to tho ballot it was carried by 470 votes to 27, The total turnover for the year was .£1,204,000. The net profit was £23,000, or about £10,000 less than tor the previous year.
