. 4 Some exciting contests were witnessed ia the 33 1-3 yards handicap for boys at the Public Tepid Swimming Baths on Saturday evening. The following were the results:—First heat: C. Ross, 16sec.. 1; S. Allen, 12sec., 2. Also started: W. Wheeler (ilscc.), W. Lambort (lOsec.), C. Leslio (2sec.). Second boat: H. Denton, 6sec., 1; W. Thomas, lsec., 2. Also started: E. Sullivan, Bsec.; H. Greenfield, Bsec. Third heat: D. Rosa, lOsec., 1; A. Ross, 4sec., 2. Also started: L. Barker, 10 boo.; A. Thomson, 9sec. Fourth heat: C. Rusterbolz, Bsec., l'j W. Hanley, Bsec., 2. Also started: S. Atkinson, Bsec.; M. Stanley, Bsec.: E. Thornhill, 2sec.; T. Howith, Bsec. Fifth beat-: H. Anderson, 4sec.; W. Montgomery, 2 Bee., dead beat, 1. Also started: T. M'Leod, 6sec,; 15. Vonsden, Osec. Sixth heat: A. Tarrant, 4soc., l; F. Mumford, Csec., 2. Also 6tarted: R. Miller, Csec.; I'. Norris, 6sec. Semifinals: C. Ross, 1; D. Ross, 2. S. Allen, 1; A..Tarrant, 2. Final: C. Ross, 1; D. Ross, 2; A. Tarrant, 3. C. Ross won with a. yard to spare, but D. Ross just won on the touch from A. TarTant. In all 28-boys competed.
