CAR STRIKE IN NEW YORK

New York, September 14. , Strikers parade the streets urging the citizens not to use the cars during the strike, as it is dangerous, because the strike-breakers are inexperienced men, despite the company's promise to use only trained men. During a procession five electric tramcars in succession got heyond control, ran down Winchester ; Hill, and piled in a heap at the bottom. Four women and fivq , men. were seriously injured. ' SHORTAGE OF WHEAT IN U.S.A. \ EMBARGO ON EXPORTS URCJED. , Australian-Now Zealand Cable Association., Washington, September 14. , The United Master Bakers have appealed to President Wilson to call a special, session of Congress to enact legislation enforcing the wheat embargo. The bakers declare that the present short supply will compel large increases in the price of bread unless all wheat is reserved -for domestic consumption. .
